⛰ Plan by time, not distance

How far can you hike?

Tell TrailTime your time budget and it maps every trail you can reach — and safely get back from — before it runs out. Real elevation, your own pace, and daylight built in.

Free to try — no account needed, no ads, no tracking.

Questions, answered

How does the reach map actually work?

The app builds a graph of real trails and walks it with Tobler's hiking function — a well-studied model of how walking speed changes with slope — from your start point, entirely on your phone. Everything inside your time budget lights up, colored near→far, and discrete routes are extracted from the result.

Why don't I see trails where I am?

Coverage is expanding region by region. If trails don't appear, the app points you to the nearest covered area. Trail data comes from OpenStreetMap, so genuinely unmapped trails won't show.

Does tracking keep working with my phone locked?

Yes. Once you grant location access, recording continues in the background and live stats stay on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island for the whole hike.

What happens to my data?

It stays on your phone. There are no ads and no analytics or tracking SDKs, and planning, recording and saved routes need no account at all. Sharing a hike is the one feature that does — and a shared hike carries only a rough area, never your route. Read the privacy policy, it's short.

Your next hike is closer than you think.
